About the author
This blog has been created to share information about health and fitness I have gathered in all of the past 3 years or more.
A little about my history
I used to be a chubby kid, weighing at 110kg (242lbs) at age of 15/16, when I finally decided I need to do something to get rid of all the fat that has been with me since childhood and the extra that has piled over in years. Funny thing is, I never ate enough to help my body grow to its potential in my teenage years because I was always worried about my weight. It had kept my confidence and self-esteem down for years.
At beginning, like everyone else, I started dieting (fad/yoyo diet) to the extreme extent. This added to the damage I had already done to myself in the previous years by starving myself. Sad enough, this jeopardized my growth. Later I realized the importance of exercise and began to incorporate 15-20 minutes of daily cardio. However, at that time I still was starving myself. Luckily, in 2006, after getting fed-up of having lost only 3kg (6.6lbs) in 5 months and working out for 45 minutes - 1hour daily, I realized it’s time to make a change. Guess what I found next? Weight lifting. Technically speaking, I never really had any interest in bodybuilding but once I got into it, I started to learn everything about diet & nutrition, muscle hypertrophy (for building muscle), and hell lots of biology that can make me understand the relation of correct number of sets, reps, nervous system response (somewhat!), nutrition requirement, rest and muscle development.
Coming in the present
Now, at age of 19, my weight is 80kg (176lbs). In a little over 2 years, I have lost around 30kg (66lbs — healthy) and have gained a lot of muscle. I didn’t really ever tested for my bodyfat previously but I guess it was above 35%. But now my bodyfat is approximately 18% as I have gained a lot of muscle, shredded a lot of fat, and gained a lot of strength.
As mentioned earlier, by starting this blog, I want to share a lot of information that I have acclaimed from random sources, backed by my personal experience. I will try my best to only share the honest and valid information/tips which can benefit you.
Happy Reading, and I hope my blog will help you with reaching your fitness goals.
